Peristat Visual Field Test

Are there hidden blind spots in your vision?
Is your optic nerve function healthy? Peristat can help...

20/20 vision does not always mean healthy eyes. In fact, many people with glaucoma, retinal detachment, stroke or other sight-threatening conditions can have significant visual impairment despite 20/20 reading vision. Hidden blind spots can go unnoticed in the corner of your sight for quite some time unless we pay close attention to what’s happening in the peripheral part of our visual field – a part that accounts for more than 80% of our retinal and optic nerve function.

Confirm normal optic nerve and retinal function with a 3-minute online test. Early damage from  GLAUCOMA, STROKE, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS can impair visual function without symptoms.

There are more than 3 million people with Glaucoma in the US alone and more than 80 million worldwide. Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in both the developed and underdeveloped world. Public health research shows that more than half of all people affected are unaware and undiagnosed, even if they have received a quick eye check for glasses. Glaucoma is often called “the silent thief of sight” because it hides in a “quiet” blind spot in the periphery of your vision. While the eye pressure test can be helpful in diagnosing glaucoma, close to 50% of all glaucoma patients present without elevated pressure, making the diagnosis particularly challenging. Peristat is a screening test of your visual field which is designed to detect subtle changes caused by glaucoma, stroke or other conditions early on before vision is irreversibly lost.

Peristat(!) is a 5-minute online test of your visual field function to check for hidden blind spots. Similar to a test eye doctors routinely use in their offices called perimetry, Peristat(!) is an online home test of your peripheral visual function. Delivered via the KeepYourSight telemedicine platform, in clinical studies Peristat has been clinically demonstrated to detect moderate to severe visual field defects with high accuracy1,2

Peristat(!) is an advanced virtual perimetry test of your peripheral vision. It has the following components:

  1. Perimetry(!) testing of up to 24 degrees of visual field
  2. Contrast sensitivity mapping of the visual field
  3. 3—level threshold retinal contrast stimulation and interrogation

Advanced reliability monitoring with gaze fixation assurance and false positives/ false-negative registration

Visual field defects from glaucoma and other conditions are much more common in people over 50 when age-related problems begin to occur. In fact, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Optometric Association recommend routine vision screening for people over 50.

Telemedicine enables anyone with an access to a computer and the internet to take a Peristat(!) vision test anytime, anywhere. Results are reviewed and graded by the participating doctor of your choice. Your participating doctor will provide you with a referral code during registration – you need this code in order to register with KeepYourSight.

After a quick 2-step registration process, you can start testing right away after you register. Your information is confidential and your selected doctor will email the results, along with any other helpful information. Please make sure the referral code you use matches with the doctor you select so he or she will have access to your test results.
